IT?SEEMS?the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is untouchable.
There is presently no entity that can bring them to heel on matters relating to over charging, disconnections and other problems faced by consumers.
This was revealed by the Office of Public Counsel yesterday in the wake of numerous consumer complaints about not getting any satisfaction from the BWA on a number of issues.
Romel Crawford, the Investigations officer at the Office of Public Counsel, explained that prior to 2009, they could intervene as the BWA was under the Utilities Regulation Act, but this is no longer the case.
