Barbados is going all out to ensure that the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) sweeping across the world does not overcome this country.
However, if it does end up here, says Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic, the country is prepared.
Bostic spoke to the DAILY NATION on Monday night after touring what is to be the third isolation facility and the second in St Lucy, the Harrison Point site.
“We’ve been concerned from the beginning. That is why we’ve been fighting so hard to keep the virus out of the country, recognising, of course, that we could not eliminate the chance of the virus coming here . . . Our strategy has been to mitigate [and] have some mitigation processes put in place so we’ve expanded and enhance our surveillance capacity at ports of entry. (AC)
