Be anxious for nothing. – Philippians 4:6.
Be of good cheer, it is I: be not afraid. – Matthew 4:7 (KJV).
Let peace and tranquility pervade your body as you digest this essential healing article – it is a true gift to readers of this column who are looking for a cure or remedy for an ailment.
Our Creator has placed us in this beautiful garden named Earth for many reasons. I purport that one of those reasons is to give us the understanding that we are the masters of our own destiny.
Therefore, by believing that what we seek will be found, we will grow to appreciate Barbadian-grown silent doctors. It is for us to believe and have faith.
I have experienced some vivid, dramatic events in my life, such as hospital stays, rejection, denial, and being wounded by organized gossip or jealousy. These episodes made me realize that healing is ever present. In fact, it was during some of these episodes that silent doctor thyme rescued me.
Thyme is an excellent silent doctor; I call it “the Creator thyme in time”.
Our African ancestors, the ancient Egyptians, used thyme for embalming. It contains vitamin K, iron, manganese, calcium, fibre and tryptophan.
Research shows that thyme can treat respiratory problems such as coughs, asthma, bronchitis and chest congestion. It can also be used for throat infections, gingivitis, halitosis, mouth inflammation, dental decay, plaque and thrush.
Thyme tea can be used for depression, exhaustion, insomnia, lack of concentration and as a memory booster. Skin problems and skin parasites – including scabies, crabs and lice – can be treated with thyme. It can ease menstrual cramps, PMS, epilepsy and convulsions.
It can also treat some digestive and gastro-intestinal problems, colic, lack of appetite and mucus build-up, and degenerative diseases, including cancer, heart disease, macular degeneration, arthritis and Alzheimer’s.
Thyme is an excellent antioxidant which can be used to treat free radical damage. It can also expel worms. You can research its other uses.
Consume one teaspoon dried chopped thyme and one tablespoon honey to treat respiratory problems, or one teacup [four to six ounces] water, half a teaspoon thyme, half a teaspoon lemon juice, and half a teaspoon honey.
One must find the strength to be healed; healing takes time. Remember, healing with thyme will become more evident in time.
