Emotions?ran high yesterday at the popular Carib Beach Bar in Worthing, Christ Church, after employees were informed that the company was closing effective Sunday.
Some of the shocked workers wept openly, while others erupted in anger after being informed by managers Colin and Philomena Cole that they had no money to provide severance or holiday pay.
Chrystal Fields, 46, who was a waitress at the bar for 12 years, broke down in tears as she revealed that her financial situation had drastically changed recently since her 12-year-old daughter had been diagnosed with diabetes and she had been spending money to keep her illness under control.
Here, Fields being consoled by colleague Cheryl Williams.
