DOCTORS WANT a reduction in the number of Barbadians trained annually for the profession at the University of the West Indies (UWI).
They are also advising Government that it’s not necessary to build a 600-bed hospital to replace the ailing Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
President of the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners’ (BAMP), Dr Carlos Chase, outlined the agency’s position on the two issues in his Christmas message, sent to the membership.
Chase noted that there were 36 internship posts at the QEH, yet there were 90 students in training at Cave Hill.   (SP)
