QC boys hold on to claim league crown

THIS TIME QUEEN’S COLLEGE held on.

QC still blew another big lead, just not another title, having barely outlasted Graydon Sealy 62-57 in yesterday’s thrilling league final of the Co-operators General Insurance Under-16 Basketball Competition at the Barbados Community College.

It was a near repeat of Monday’s knockout title game, where Queen’s College squandered all of a 17-point lead in the first half during Graydon Sealy’s miraculous comeback win.

And the Paddock Road side threatened to go one better, erasing an even bigger 49-27 deficit by holding QC scoreless for more than ten minutes to take the unlikeliest of 55-54 leads with two minutes left. (JM)
