St John SOS

THE ST JOHN AMBULANCE Association Of Barbados needs a lot more money and volunteers to boost its work.
At least 20 new volunteers are on the way, but commissioner Rodney Yarde says “that’s still not enough” for the agency, which teaches first aid and does community work wherever it can.
As for funding, Yarde concedes “it’s far from enough” and that is why the association is “appealing to corporate Barbados to help”.
He made the comments after a service yesterday in the Cathedral Of St Michael And All Angels marking the association’s 70th anniversary.
He said the agency was now perhaps more relevant to Barbados, but needed help.
