Thousands of cases of milk have been taken off the local market. Main milk producer the Pine Hill Dairy has printed the details on what they say is a voluntary recall in an advertisement on page 23A in today’s SUNDAY SUN. According to the advertisement, the Quality Assurance Team detected premature spoilage in several batches of milk which were on the market. The recall affects five different kinds of milk and 12 separate batches produced between May 5 and June 19 this year, with best before dates ranging from November 2014 to February 2015. Seven different batches of 250 ml full cream evaporated milk, with best before dates ranging from November 1 to December 16 have been recalled. One batch of 250 ml partly skimmed evaporated milk with a best before date of December 9 is also on the list. Lovers of flavoured milk should also be on the lookout. Two batches of 200 ml flavoured milk in vanilla, one tutu frutti and one chocolate with best buy dates between February 7 and February 21, 2015. (YB)
