CABINET?MINISTER and Member of Parliament Richard Sealy has expressed concern about illegal racing and speeding that he says is now becoming commonplace in densely populated communities and is calling for a police crackdown.
Sealy, the Minister of Tourism, spoke about the problem on Thursday night during a town hall meeting at Luther Thorne Primary School with residents and business operators of Observatory Road, Wildey, and Clapham Park, St Michael, to discuss proposed changes to the flow of traffic on Observatory Road.
Noting that he would meet with police in a bid to combat this development, Sealy said the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Transport John Boyce and Chief Technical Officer Frank Thornhill, was part of a fact-finding mission.
“It was interesting to hear residents speak of illegal racing late at night and that I thought was a revelation for a lot of us. I think that is something that will not only involve the ministry but the Royal Barbados Police Force
