PROLIFIC scorer Peter Alleyne will be looking to lead Christ Church Foundation to another title when the National Sports Council’s Secondary Schools’ Indoor Hockey competition climaxes with four finals at the Wildey Gymnasium from 1:30 p.m. today.

Alleyne, who scored the most goals in the 2013 season when he led Foundation to gold in the Under-13 Boys and silver in the Under-15, has so far scored 12 goals in four matches with his fourth successive hat-trick occurring in the Under-15 Boys’ 4-1 semifinals win over St Leonard’s Boys’.

Jacobi Williams added the fourth goal for Foundation while Aderyo Worrell responded for St Leonard’s. Today, Foundation will meet Harrison College in the Under-15 final after Callum Sumpter scored for HC to defeat Graydon Sealy 1-0.

HC and Foundation will also feature in the Under-13 Boys final while HC girls pipped former queens Foundation in the preliminaries to set up a battle with Springer Memorial and their standout national player Ayanna Wilson.

Both HC and Foundation are gunning to meet in the boys’ senior finals but they will have to take care of some unfinished business in some outstanding matches early this morning to advance to that 4 p.m. clash.

Powerhouse Combermere did not take part in this year’s competitions, but a number of new teams, like Grantley Adams Memorial, gave a good account of themselves, with the outstanding display of goalkeeping from Toni Fields keeping many of the more experienced attackers at bay.

The Under-15 Boys was the best subscribed with Pool A attracting Foundation, Graydon Sealy, The  Alleyne School and St Leonard’s B. In Pool B were HC, St George Secondary, St Leonard’s A, and Grantley Adams. (KB)
