They came, they saw, they conquered, and they are full of praise for the new and improved Bushy Park race track in St Philip.

Race of Champions (ROC) Nations Cup winners Tom Kristensen of Denmark and Petter Solberg of Norway gave Bushy Park the thumbs-up on a thrilling and spectacular opening day of the ROC weekend.

The two European drivers delighted thousands of Barbadians with their breathtaking daredevil skills in the international class that was the meat and drink of the all-day programme that also featured local and Caribbean drivers with stunt bike riders capping an enthralling day.

When the smoke had cleared, Solberg, who has the unique feat of capturing world championships in two different disciplines of motor sport, saluted the work done to transform Bushy Park into a high-class facility.

“Its a fantastic track. Barbados can feel happy with the facility. It’s impressive. I have no doubt that it will be a big success for Barbados in the future and with the big passion for motor sport here, anything is possible,” he said.
