THREE WEEKS AFTER Combermere School closed its doors because of environmental problems, some students moved into their temporary home yesterday.
However, hundreds of others are yet to find alternative accommodation for the remainder of the school term.
Sixth form students started classes at Erdiston Teachers’ Training College, while fifth form students will turn up today at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) in Wildey, St Michael.
On November 16 the school was closed indefinitely because of complaints of ill-health from teachers and students. It was a continuation of the environmental issues plaguing the Waterford, St Michael institution since last year, when the student body had to be similarly accommodated elsewhere. This was the second time the school had to be closed this year. (LK)
