FROM A DESIRE to be paid for monies owed by Government, to hopes for a 24-hour operation in every department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), were among some of the New Year’s wishes shared by a number of notable Barbadians yesterday.
There were also hopes for an economy that sees the end of layoffs and in its place an increase in employment; initiatives that would see buses travelling through Speightstown again and the street designated as one-way; a return to traditional practices in education aimed at recapturing those core principles, morals and values which underpinned the education system up to two decades ago, and more opportunities for the disabled to get employment and realise their full potential.
