BARBADOS’ AMBASSADOS to China Dr Chelston Brathwaite invited a host of friends to the launch of his book Ten Defining Moments at the Cricket Legends on Fontabelle.

It was an evening when the spotlight fell on a distinguished “son of the soil”, with speakers such as retired permanent secretary and former diplomat Michael King, master of ceremonies Harry Mayers, spoken word artiste Adrian Greene and University of the West Indies lecturer Dr Pedro Welch paying tribute to him.

In the book Brathwaite captured highlights of his life, giving the reader more than a glimpse into the life of a boy from a working class background who achieved and made Barbados proud along the way.

Excerpts from the book were read by Sir Henry Fraser and Harry Mayers.
