HUNDREDS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN were recognised for excellence in a variety of areas related to their school life.
At the fourth annual National Primary School Awards held at Queen’s College on Sunday, children who were assessed on their determination to succeed, creative ability, versatility and interest in physical education while maintaining a balance with academics received awards.
The programme was conceptualised by Ricardo Marshall who, after observing his daughter’s successful educational journey, wanted to put a programme in place to work with children to give them similar support and opportunities to excel in a variety of way. Â
“It is a holistic approach to education. It started three years ago through my daughter’s success . . . She won multiple scholarships and is currently in China studying medicine so I thought then that I could inspire children . . . This is something I do out of my pocket because I do not believe that only my daughter can succeed; I think that each child, if given the opportunity, can succeed,” Marshall said. (LK)
