CLOSE TO 600 people have found jobs with the plush Sandals hotel which reopens to business today, resort officials have confirmed.

Sandals Barbados will be welcoming its first guests at the property which was refurbished at a cost of US$65 million.

“The employees are all excited . . . Our first guest should arrive around noon,” said Josef Zellner, general manager of the 280-room resort at Dover, Christ Church.

“We’re really excited to see this come into fruition. We wanted to come to Barbados for a long time.”

Zellner said the redevelopment was “modern and absolutely stunning”.

He said all systems were ready for people to start checking in at the all-inclusive property which is already heavily booked.
