Rogue cops

A SMALL PERCENTAGE of officers in the Royal Barbados Police Force are unscrupulous and even evil.

So said Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith yesterday, as he vowed to weed out corrupt cops.

He gave the warning at the force’s annual conference at Solidarity House.

Making reference to a major illegal drug investigation during which police officers were said to have been questioned, Griffith warned that there was no place for rogue cops in the constabulary.

“I feel obliged to say something about ethics,” he told the auditorium, which was filled to capacity with senior officers as well as rank and file members.
