UWI head urges Govt to pay up

PAY UP SOME of the millions of dollars owed to us.

That’s the impassioned call from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill campus principal Professor Eudine Barriteau, to Government.

In her address at the launch of the Caribbean Sport Conference at the Usain Bolt Complex yesterday, Barriteau urged the Freundel Stuart administration to honour its promise to pay the more than $190 million owed.

She said this would allow the university to proceed with its programmes and plans that would help overcome its present difficulties and pave the way for a more profitable and sustainable future. (JC)
