The big time is becoming quite common a place for Chelsea Tuach to be.

Barbados’ surf phenomenon continues to fly the Barbados flag high in Australia, while burning it up in the water.

Surfing against a field of 72 of the world’s best professional women from around the world at the World Surf League’s (WSL) Qualification Series 1000 Burton Automotive Women’s Classic taking place at Merewether Beach in New South Wales, Tuach showcased her talent with her powerful and fluid front and back-hand attack to take the win in both her Round 2 and Round 3 matchups.

Just as in the WSL 1000 Junior Pro event held at the same venue just a few days ago, where Tuach was the only non-Australian surfer in the final, she will face an all-Australian line-up in Sophia Bernard, Ellie Brooks and Alyssa Locke in the Women’s Round of 16 tomorrow.

The waves have been tricky but fun and the forecast is for an increase in swell in the next few days,” Tuach told the DAILY NATION yesterday.

“I am really happy to have taken the win in both of my heats today and to be in the Round of 16.  I am looking forward to surfing bigger waves and to keeping the momentum going.  I am grateful to my coach, sponsors and supporters for continuing to support me and pray for me.” Tuach said shortly after winning her heat late Wednesday evening.
