STUDENTS AT Grantley Adams Memorial Secondary School are playing an active role in advancing their own education and improving their surroundings.

The school got a $20 000 gift from Eldorado Gold Barbados, which is to help outfit the school’s cosmetology and masonry labs. Masonry students are currently building the cosmetology lab and will focus on their own facilities afterwards.

President and managing director of Eldorado Gold, Robert Bourque, who presented the cheque to Minister of Education Ronald Jones this morning, said the money was just the first phase of the company’s  planned investment into the school.

Bourque has also committed to using his contacts to help to get the painting and other cosmetic and infrastructural work the school needs done. (YB)
