HEALING HERBS: Demonstrating confidence

Date:

Share post:

ON SATURDAY MORNING I had a dynamic philosophical discussion with Major Sam Headley who is regarded as a legend in our community.

As the conversation gained momentum, he paid a compliment to me. I paused and with confidence stated: “Thank you Major Headley, I know who I am.” With wisdom he replied: “But you must also know who you were.”

His statement caused brighter lights to illuminate my consciousness and I had a flashback about being an indigenous master herbalist and being a descendant of a powerful royal figure of authority from Africa. My level of self-esteem expanded because here I was having a conversation with a ‘higher light’ who was not only empowering me, but is known as a very confident individual.

Later in the day when I reflected on the Christ Church Foundation School’s natural hair contest,
I recalled the dance choreographed by the fourth formers and performed by the first formers.
The reason I recalled this performance was because the students were given limited notice to prepare, yet they all performed like international dancers. This was a demonstration
of self-confidence.

Confidence is defined as a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities. Over the years I have recognised that when we are comfortable and confident about ourselves, it allows us to excel in all areas of life. Here are some of the factors associated with confident people.

1. They only seek approval from people who matter.

2. They maintain a high level of loyalty with team members.

3. They honour who they are and what they prefer in life.

4. They will admit their mistakes and always offer sincere apologies.

5. They are very creative and can take a project from an idea into a realistic venture.

6. They always avoid complaining to supervisors about other colleagues; instead, they implement mentorship.

7. They allow positive persons to share in their development.

8. They are rarely emotional about negative opinions others have of them.

9. Confident people are good listeners and when people complain about them, they avoid responding to the complaint unless necessary.

10. Confident people do not drain you.

It is confidence which also guides me to understand, write and speak about silent doctors. I will now confidently share some secrets about silent doctors with you.

Try blended okras, linseed, grated dried cassava and coconut water to ease constipation. Also, research passion fruit, watermelon and breadnut for information to boost your sexual confidence.

Finally, I implore you to discover what makes you confident and allow these factors to take the lead in your life.
