Warm welcome

WHILE MILLIONS in the United States were busy watching the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, Sunday night, some dedicated and patriotic Bajans spent the night greeting and chatting with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart in Brooklyn, New York.

It was a little slice of Bajan life as the Friends of Barbados (DLP) Association held their annual Cocktail Sip at St Gabriel’s Church Hall.

Stuart was given a rousing applause and a standing ovation as he walked on to the stage to the tune of Beautiful Barbados played by New York-based Bajan band Technic, whose leader is Andy Hewitt.

The Prime Minister thanked the audience for their loyal support, and urged them to join in helping the Barbados Consulate recognize outstanding Barbadians.
