ST GILES PRIMARY SCHOOL has long been associated with sporting success in netball and cricket, and now track and field can be added to the list of achievements for the Ivy-based institution.

With great all-round application and execution, St Giles retained their boys’ title in the James Wedderburn Zone of the Pine Hill 2015 National Primary Schools Athletic Championships, earning 138 points to share the crown with Bay Primary.

Meanwhile, the St Giles’ girls ran away with the title – opening a 39-point gap over the 2014 winners Arthur Smith Primary, who gained 148 points.

With principal Claudette Moseley-Clarke and dozens of supporters joining the celebrations, St Giles capped a tremendous day at the National Stadium on Monday with dancing and singing of spirituals to give glory to their young heroes in track and field. (KB)
