MP talks unity

CHRIST CHURCH WEST Member of Parliament Maria Agard wants her Barbados Labour Party (BLP) to punish any member whose behaviour threatens its chances of winning the next general election.

But she has advised the party not to mistake a difference of opinion for a threat to unity.

Agard spoke of the “unity” issues during yesterday’s meeting of her Christ Church West constituency branch at the Arthur Smith Primary School in St Matthias.

She used the forum to address some of the charges swirling in the constituency for weeks, including allegations that constituents were trying to unseat her because of a reported lack of performance. (TY)
