WELLINGTON – The event was unofficially dubbed To Sir With Love.

Two towering cricketing legends and knights, Sir Curtly Ambrose and Sir Richard Hadlee, for 45 minutes put their feet up, spoke candidly and got all the attention from a room full of journalists to discuss their glittering careers in an event put on by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to showcase the lovely silver and gold World Cup Trophy.

Sir Curtly, who ended his international career with 630 wickets, and Sir Richard (589) not only spoke about their past, but the current tournament and the future
of world cricket.
