THEY MADE UP GROUND YESTERDAY. Now all that’s left for Burger King Lester Vaughan is to clear that final hurdle today.
The team that promised so much certainly delivered on the track, as this year’s BSSAC boys’ favourites justified their huge billing at the National Stadium by almost erasing a 31-point deficit to move alongside leaders Christ Church Foundation.
At one point they even appeared to pass the front runners by the end of the day, but a late disqualification of their Under-17 boys’ 4×100 relay team handed back Foundation (154.50) a slim lead of 2.50 points.
And no one encapsulated the day’s performance quite like Stephen Griffith, pictured here screaming in delight after coasting to victory in the Under-20 boys’ 400 metres. (BN)
