BARBADOS WILL BE COUNTING on height, speed and experience in their quest to win the regional Jean Pierre Under-16 Tournament which will be held in St Lucia from tomorrow until April 17.
Last year, Barbados ended one spot behind winners Jamaica who will not be defending their crown.
While cautioning that the non-participation of Jamaica will not mean an automatic triumph for the Bajans, coach Julie Phillips said she would be counting on her girls’ varied abilities to win.
“This is an age tournament and although we placed second to Jamaica last time and they will not be competing this year, there could be teams that were very weak last year and they could be extremely strong this year,” she said. (KB)
