Shawayne Deshawn Williams made his first appearance on drug charges in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The 27-year-old, of Mahaica Gap, Green Hill, St Michael, pleaded not guilty to possession of cannabis, having a traffickable quantity of the drug and possession of cannabis with intent to supply, on July 20.

There was no objection to bail and his attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens indicated his surety would be present on the next court date.

Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes remanded the accused to Dodds Prison until September 6.

Williams is also on remand from the Holetown Magistrates’ Court after he appeared there on two murder charges.

He was not required to plead to murdering Tyrese Ceasar; murdering Trae Harris; unlawfully engaging in conduct which placed Andre Beckles in danger of death or serious bodily harm; wounding Seth Towler with intent; wounding Kemar Bradshaw with intent and possession of a firearm, all on June 29 this year.
