Gun worry

YESTERDAY’S SHOOTING of four people in Christ Church has brought the biggest problem currently facing the Royal Barbados Police Force to the fore once again.

Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, Irwin Boyce, told the MIDWEEK NATION last night that the frequency of gun crimes “is something we have never witnessed before”. But he said some new strategies would be brought to the investigations in the coming weeks.

“Like all processes, all investigations, we are seeing approaches that we can adopt in order to bring it under control. And we are really working hard, and will be working hard in the next two to three weeks, to ensure that there is not that fear of crime [and that] there is not that anxiety in terms of crime issues in Barbados,” Boyce said.
