THE VETERINARY Services Department of the Ministry of Agriculture has advised that the temporary restriction placed on the importation of poultry and by products from a few countries has been lifted.

With effect from today, temporary restrictions placed on the importation of live birds, hatching eggs and on fresh, frozen and chilled poultry meat products, including table eggs for personal use and commercial sale, will be lifted for the United Kingdom and other member countries of the European Union with the exception of the Netherlands and Germany.

Restrictions remain in place for the United States and Canada, as a result of the ongoing outbreak of the contagious Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. (BGIS)
