Bosses warned

UNION HEAD Toni Moore commended staff at the Transport Board for the strike action they took yesterday and then warned other employers that workers will not tolerate being “shoved and pushed into a corner”.

“This important action is a signal to all other employers out there; who knows if Light & Power is coming next,” she said in a reference to the electricity company which is sending home scores of workers.

“We cannot expect to push and shove workers into a corner. There comes a time when individuals will say enough is enough.”

Employees of the state-run bus service walked off the job in the early morning, leaving commuters to make alternative transport arrangements, as only a few chartered buses left bus depots.
