THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED meeting between the National Sports Council (NSC) and the island’s primary schools was postponed at the eleventh hour yesterday.
Last Friday, the NSC’s assistant director of sports Mona Alleyne had sent a letter to all of the primary schools principals asking that they send their physical education teachers to a meeting at the NSC headquarters, Blenheim, at 2 p.m. yesterday.
The meeting was called to discuss the week-long situation with netball champions Blackman and Gollop and the NSC, with the governing body for sports asking Blackman and Gollop to merge their “A” and “B” teams since the NSC were contending that “B” teams should not contain Class 4 students.
