Bug attack

BITTEN UP PASSENGERS yesterday knocked the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal for being filthy and needing an overall cleaning, as benches infested with bugs were removed.

Hours after the Transport Board announced it was fighting a bug invasion that meant all the seating in the Bridgetown terminal had to be removed, commuters said they had been under attack since last year.

Several recounted being bitten or having relatives who were pricked by what they believed were “chiggers” or “chinks”, bugs that had once pervaded the landscape.

Sheena Haynes, a regular commuter on the Yorkshire, Christ Church route, said both she and her sister visited the doctor after being bitten from bugs in the benches sometime back.
