Union standing firm

THE NATIONAL UNION of Public Workers (NUPW) enters Phase 2 of its industrial action today – but the union is keeping the details a secret.

President Akanni McDowall told members yesterday, following the three-hour-long protest march against the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC), that Phases 2, 3, 4 and 5 were still to come.

“This is just the beginning,” he told the hundreds of followers who gathered at the union’s Dalkeith, St Michael headquarters.
