THE END OF the worst Sargassum seaweed invasion of Barbados’ beaches may be at hand.

Top marine scientist at Texas A&M University, Galveston Campus, Robert Webster, said a gradual reduction in seaweed landings should start near month-end if present weather patterns hold.

Furthermore, all indications were that the worst was over for Barbados, though fluctuations in the various size Sargassum mats coming ashore might give the appearance that larger landings were taking place.

This would seem so particularly on beaches where the seaweed was not moved and additional landings came in.
