Customs agreement reached

AN AGREEMENT to end the Customs and Excise Department standoff over transition the Barbados Revenue Authority, has been reached.

After more than four hours of intense discussions tonight between top officials of the National Union of Public Workers, Barbados Workers’ Union and Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler at Government Headquarters, a deal was brokered.

As a result Customs workers will return to normal duties at the Grantley Adams International Airport and the Bridgetown Port and put an end to their long-running go-slow. (GE)
