A NUMBER OF records will be on the line tonight when the MQI Pic-O-De-Crop Finals gets under way at 8 p.m. at Kensington Oval.

With veteran campaigner Adonijah in the line-up, it could be the first time in the history of the competition that a Rastafarian walks away with the coveted title.

There are three women from as many tents included among the finalists. Can Donella, Enobong or Chrystal Cummins-Beckles, who has been consistently in the top four in recent years, achieve what Rita did back in 1988 and become the second female calypsonians to be named queen in this country?

As a back to back winner in the Euphony Vibes Regional Female Calypso competition in Montserrat, Chrystal knows how it feels to be in winner’s row. She is hoping that 2015 is the year she will get the opportunity to savour victory in her own land.
