Fee ‘fuzzy’

WASTE HAULERS ARE CONFUSED over when a proposed $40 tipping fee per load is to come into effect.

“I want some clarity for myself and my customers on when the tipping fee will be changed,” said waste hauler Anderson “Fat Child” Cherry yesterday.

Cherry, managing director of José y José Liquid and Solid Waste Management, and Charles Read, managing director of Simpson Trucking and Skip Services, said there were in the dark on the implementation date for the new fee which was announced during the June 15 Budget.

Cherry, who is also chairman of the Waste Haulers Association, said his clients were querying why the fee had not changed to reflect what was outlined in the budgetary proposals by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler.
