THE FESTIVITIES ARE DONE. Now it’s time for the real fireworks.
Basketball’s second season begins tonight at long last, as the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League play-offs finally get under way at the Wildey Gym following an agonisingly long two-week break for Crop Over action.
It’s the much awaited start for one of the most anticipated postseasons in recent history, considering there’s no real tournament favourite among a field featuring Orange 3 Pinelands, Hilton Barbados Warriors, Station Hill Cavaliers and Pan American International Insurance Warrens.
The Pine should’ve entered with that darling status, with the Princess Royal-based squad not only serving as defending league champs, but also as the current holders of this year’s knockout title.
