Two businesses on Sunday gave updates in relation to staff being tested for coronavirus (COVID-19).

West Bar, Holetown, St James announced on social media that three staff members, while being asymptomatic, had tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently being facilitated at Government’s Harrison’s Point, St Lucy isolation centre.

“All other staff have tested negative and will continue to self-quarantine until receiving the results of a second test to be conducted over the next two days.

“We would like to send prayers and positive thoughts to the affected three members of our team and to their families, as well as to the citizens of Barbados and visitors to our lovely island,” West Bar management said in a statement.

The statement noted that “these are definitely trying times for all of us” and urged everyone to follow the COVID-19 protocols outlined by Government. “Remember, do it for you, your family, your friends . . . for everyone.”

Meanwhile, the management of Café Sol, Worthing, Christ Church also issued a notice: “All staff who were tested on Friday, 1st of January [the majority of staff] have received negative results. We are now awaiting just a few test results for those who were tested yesterday, Saturday, 2nd of January, and will update once those are in.” (PR/KG)
