‘Reclaim country’

A HIGH-RANKING ANGLICAN CLERIC is calling on Barbadians to take back their island in the wake of a rash of incidents of gun violence.

In addition, Archdeacon Eric Lynch wants this year’s parish ambassadors to come up with plans to help solve the issue at a community level.

He was delivering the sermon to mark the 20th anniversary of the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat at St James Parish Church yesterday.

Addressing the congregation that included the parish ambassadors, their attendants, members of the various parish committees and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Culture, Ruth Blackman, Lynch said that while people might have “different perspectives, we can all agree to disagree”.
