Agricultural workshop targets youth farmers

THE FIRST DAY of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) regional project got underway today at the Accra Beach Hotel, Rockley, Christ Church.

Participants from more than nine Caribbean territories were present at the conference, which has the aim of strengthening rural opportunities for young people, and participation in the Caribbean food and feed system.

The US $2.7 million programme, is expected to generate employment for young people in the areas of food production, processing, marketing and agro-tourism and will take place across the region over the next three years. (AD)
