Bajan lads beaten

Barbados’ Darian King and Russell Moseley lost their crucial Davis Cup Americas Zone Group 1 doubles match 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 against Ecuador’s Emilio Gomez and Gonzalo Escobar at the National Tennis Centre yesterday.

The loss means that the South Americans lead the tie 2-1 heading into the final two singles matches today.

Barbados were behind the eight ball even before they hit the court as they had to use Moseley as King’s partner at the last minute.

This was after Haydn Lewis, King’s usual doubles partner, withdrew because of a back problem.
