THE FATAL SHOOTING in an apparent robbery of a businessman yesterday spread fear among some and raised concerns about organised crime.

Stanley Michelini, 63, was reportedly robbed and shot twice by two armed bandits at his business place in rural St Thomas.

Reports indicated that Michelini, owner of the West Coast Garden Centre, at Westmoreland, St James, was attacked around 3 p.m. while he was at another branch at Bucks, St Thomas.

His wife Zoe arrived just before dark and broke into tears when she saw all the parked vehicles, investigators and reporters. She attempted to hide her face with a handbag to shield herself from the clicking cameras. (YB)
