Bourne wins sixth gold medal

PATRICK BOURNE’S golden run at the 2015 Huntsman Senior Games continued on Thursday when he won the men’s 50-54 age group 5-K road race.

Bourne crossed the line first in 18:46.6 while teammate Lester Phillips won the bronze in 20:27.0. The win carried Bourne’s overall gold medal haul to six and he became the first Barbadian male athlete to win six gold medals at the games.

Bourne’s other gold medals came in the 200, 400, 800, 1 500 and 3 000 metres
