AS THE SCREAMS of “you can’t car’ he way; you can’t car’ he way” rang out, the disappearing wail of a police siren indicated that six men from the Grazettes/Fairfield area were on their way to HMP Dodds to start 28 days on remand in connection with a murder charge.

And Magistrate Ian Weekes has sounded a warning to the relatives of the six accused who plan to be present at their next appearance: do not hail the men as they are on their way to court or in the prison vehicle or all the “rules will be shut down for all”.

Dario Theo Mitchell, 21, of Tudor Bridge, Fairfield, Black Rock; Rory Japeth Graham, 34, who has no fixed place of abode; his twin brother Reo Seth Graham, of Tudor Bridge, Fairfield, Black Rock; James Matthew Miller, 39, a steel bender of Fairfield, Black Rock; Alex Akeem Jacobs, 20, of 1st Avenue, Grazettes; and Chad Akeem Chadderton, a 21-year-old student of Tudor Bridge, Fairfield, Black Rock, all in St Michael, had just appeared on murder, conduct endangering life and firearm charges. Two of them also faced drug-related charges.

Magistrate Weekes remanded the six accused for the October 2 murder of Jamal Worrell to HMP Dodds until November 9. (HLE)
