CELLULAR PHONES have a place in the schools.
But so too do rules to appropriately control what is done with them on campuses.
These were among the views of several students who attended the fourth annual EduNation forum at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed yesterday.
While education officials and teachers refused to comment on the controversial topic, students willingly aired their views on the planned revision of the cellphone policy as revealed in the most recent edition of the SUNDAY SUN, which reported on a draft users code that has been prepared by the Ministry of Education.
One of the panellists for the event was 15-year-old Abreena Redding, who told the MIDWEEK NATION that smartphones could enhance the learning experience for both students and teachers.
