SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Chaudhri Antonio Gobin has been granted bail on the charge of murdering his teenage friend in September.
His bail was set at $150 000 today with one surety and Gobin, of Long Gap, Spooners Hill, St Michael at the time of the incident, must comply with a number of conditions. The accused is charged with the September 16 death of Shakeem Turton, 18, also of Long Gap.
He must check in with police every Saturday by 10 a.m., obey a 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew unless attending sporting activities in the evening, stay away from the parties in the matter and attend a school or an institution of learning.
Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim and Steve Gollop made the application before Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson in chambers.
Gobin is set to return to the Criminal Court No.2 on November 13. (AC)
