SCORES of Children had a mighty good time with calypso and folk legend Anthony Mighty Gabby Carter during story hour at the Public Library on Saturday.

Gabby sent the 36 youngsters seated around him into fits of laughter as he read What Makes Me Happy What Brings Me Joy: A Rainy Day, a book by Barbadian artist/author John Carl Martin.

Before beginning the highly interactive reading session, the cultural icon encouraged them to sing along to his song Flood Waters, inspired by a chapter in In The Castle Of My Skin by George Lamming.

Martin said the book, which was co-written with his daughter Destiny Martin, aims to promote the island and inspire children to live happy lives.

He donated A Rainy Day and three other books from his series – A Day In The Park, A Day At The Beach and A Snowboarding Adventure – to the library.
