THE CONDUCT of a number of female officers at Dodds Prison has come under the spotlight following the circulation of a social media photo of two of them socialising on a pleasure boat with a man on bail for one murder charge and now in police custody in relation to another.

And while officials at the St Philip penal complex confirmed they were investigating the two, one of whom had been on sick leave for several months and the other for about a month, sources at the prison confirmed yesterday the problem ran much deeper.

Just late last month, one source said, another female officer was the subject of an investigation and hearing in which she admitted she was involved with an ex-prisoner.

According to the source, she was warned that the security of her job would be in jeopardy if she did not end the relationship, but to date there was nothing to suggest there had been any change in her behaviour.
